Learn Spanish the Right Way 

Our Spanish courses consist of one-on-one instruction with an experienced professional certified Spanish teacher. You may, if you wish, design your own Spanish learning program, emphasizing the material most important to you. That being said, we have standardized course programs depending on your previous knowledge of Spanish that are proven to be very effective on your journey to Spanish fluency. Whether you are a visual, audible, or “hands -on” learner, we can accommodate you. We combine grammar and vocabulary instruction with fun and interesting activities that help make the language your own.  We also encourage our students to walk around town with their teachers – Antigua’s ruins, museums, central market, and the various boutiques offer many Spanish learning opportunities.

Apart from the formal instruction and activities, we offer modern technological resources to dramatically speed up the learning process. We offer electronic vocabulary flashcards that you can study at our facilities or anywhere with an Internet connection, as well as mp3 audio files for improving your Spanish comprehension and accent using your mp3 player (ipod or similar) or your computer.

In addition, Academia Colonial offers students excellent ways to learn Spanish outside of class with our many afternoon or evening activities in and around Antigua or Guatemala city, as well as our family stay program.
