Academia Colonial offers private 1-on-1 Spanish lessons with our experienced instructors online via Skype. The same certified instructors that teach every day in our Spanish immersion school in Antigua are available to teach you online, on your schedule, and in the comfort of your own home.

Whatever your level, absolute beginner to advanced conversationalist, our online classes can greatly improve your Spanish rapidly. Far more effective that typical classroom based learning where the student is rarely truly engaged in any form of discourse, our online classes consist of an hour or more of constant interaction and conversation. The idea is to get your talking and communicating in Spanish immediately – and build from there. Grammar is taught during the conversation, rather than the traditional method of studying rule after rule. We find that many of our students have studied years of Spanish the traditional way, but still cannot communicate even at a basic level. The online classes are given in same format as our extremely effective one-on-one Spanish instruction we give our students; just online – focusing on communication skills immediately.

The classes will emphasize and refine your ability to:

Apart from the class itself, you will be given email homework that is corrected and then reviewed with you during the class. You will also be given access to our electronic vocabulary lists that you can study online.

Hours: Online classes are given during regular working hours and extended hours to cater to those with busy schedules. Regular hours are Monday - Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Guatemala Time (GMT - 6). Extended hours are Monday - Friday 6:00 p.m. to 10 p.m., and Saturday from 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. **Extra fees apply to Spanish lessons conducted during extended hours. 

Prices:

Classes are to be purchased before your lesson, minimum purchase 10 hours:

• $12.00/hour when you purchase 10 hours
• $11.00/hour when you purchase 20 hours
• $9.99/hour when you purchase 30 hours or more

Minimum System Requirements:

Apple Mac: A Mac G4 with an 800 Mhz processor or faster running OS X v10.3.9 Panther or later. System RAM should be 512MB or more. Microsoft Windows: A PC running Windows 2000, XP, or Vista with 1000 Mhz of processing speed or faster and a minimum of 256MB of RAM. Additional requirements are a high speed internet connection, and a headset/microphone combo that can be purchased  at most electronics stores. Please install and test the free Skype communication software prior to your first lesson. Skype can be downloaded here. 

Fine Print:

Individual classes may be scheduled 24 hours or more in advance, and you must take at least two hours per week. If you need to cancel a class you must do so at least 24 hours in advance and you will not get charged for that lesson. The lessons are purchased in advance.
